Bulgaria bans sale of 20 tons of vegetables with increased pesticide content

The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency banned the sale of over 20 tons of vegetables with increased pesticide content imported from non-EU countries. The food safety agency banned 17 tons of cabbage and 4 tons of cucumbers. The whole quantity will be destroyed or returned to the country of origin. The tests were made on Zlatarevo border checkpoint. Several days ago, the Bulgarian control authorities rejected the import of tomatoes from Turkey due to high content of nitrates found in them.
